Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
Experience Required: 5+ years as a Golf Course Superintendent at reputable golf courses

Job Summary:

Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Golf Course Superintendent to manage and oversee the daily operations of the Georgia Veterans Golf Course. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with a proven track record in golf course management, leadership, and team building. The ideal candidate will have a passion for maintaining the highest quality playing conditions and will work closely with staff, management, and visitors to ensure an outstanding golf experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily maintenance and operations of the Georgia Veterans Golf Course.
  • Develop and execute long-term maintenance plans to enhance course quality, aesthetics, and playability.
  • Manage and lead a team of groundskeepers and other course staff, ensuring efficient daily operations and quality service.
  • Supervise the course's turf management, irrigation systems, landscaping, and pest control efforts.
  • Ensure the course meets all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain the budget for course maintenance and operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Hire, train, and develop staff members, conducting regular performance reviews and providing feedback for career development.
  • Collaborate with the management team to maintain course standards, set goals, and implement initiatives to improve the guest experience.
  • Be available to work weekends, holidays, and as needed to ensure the golf course’s success.
  • Provide leadership and direction in all aspects of course management, including turf care, seasonal transitions, and overall course presentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field, or a recognized certification in golf course management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Golf Course Superintendent at reputable courses.
  • Proven success in managing and maintaining a high-quality golf course.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on staff development.
  • Solid understanding of turf management, irrigation systems, and pest control.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with staff, guests, and park management.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality customer service and achieving measurable results in a golf course setting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
